What is Advancements Are Cursed?
Advancements Are Cursed inverts Minecraft's entire progression system by making every achievement you earn actively harm you. Each time you complete any advancement - from "Stone Age" to "Free the End" - you are immediately struck by a random, permanent curse that never expires. These curses stack infinitely, meaning by the time you reach the Ender Dragon, you will be crippled by dozens of simultaneous debuffs including permanent slowness, mining fatigue, reduced max health, periodic poison damage, and chaotic teleportation events.
This datapack features 20 unique curses ranging from permanent status effects (Slowness, Weakness, Glowing) to attribute penalties (-2 hearts max health, reduced movement speed, lower attack damage) to periodic chaos pulses that strike you with Darkness, Nausea, Wither, or Blindness every 30 seconds. Special event curses include permanent Bad Omen, instant damage spikes, luck reduction, and random nearby teleportation. The more you accomplish, the weaker you become, creating an escalating difficulty curve that transforms Minecraft into a brutal survival challenge where every advancement is both a victory and a punishment.
